The 2009 St George Fest is over and we're all looking forward to 2010. We hope to see you all again next year! You can find pictures of the 2009 St George's Day Banquet here, and pictures of the Regency Ball here.
We would like to make our event even better next year. Please send comments and suggestions to us at Dragon@StGeorgeFest.org.uk
The Scots, Irish and Welsh are very good at celebrating their nationality; the English, unfortunately, have a lot to learn. The town of Hedge End, in Hampshire is organising a celebration in 2009 to help put this right.
We encourage people from Hedge End and from far and wide to join us.
Present day England is a multi-cultural country and we wish to celebrate this as well as the more traditional English things.
The celebrations start on St George's Day (Thursday 23rd April) and end on the Saturday evening with an event everybody can join in - a barn dance interleaved with pieces by local performers.
The picture on the left is from the National Gallery in London and is by Gustave Moreau.
We have been given permission by Hedge End Town Council to run a Jousting Tournament and a campsite at Woodhouse Lane. The Jousting will be at 3.00pm on the Saturday.
